Part of Master Differently

Start your next chapter with a Collective behind you.

Build skills through a Google learning pathway in a free, 12-week cohort with peer support, shared milestones, and opportunities to practice what you learn.

Plan on 15 to 20 hours a week.

Nine pathways. One cohort.

Finish with skills you can explain and people who have seen you grow.

The certificate is the curriculum. The Collective is the experience around it.

  • Build knowledge

Work through a selected learning pathway and its completion requirements.
  • Make understanding visible

Explain concepts, ask better questions, and practice applying what you learn through coursework and presentations.
  • Grow with others

Develop communication, collaboration, and consistency within a cohort.

These are learning goals. They are not a guarantee of a job or a certificate.

A learning path. A weekly rhythm. People in your corner.

Learning is easier alongside people working toward the same goal. Your cohort is a supportive space to ask questions, share progress, and grow together.

  • Learn together

You join a cohort. Each cohort has tracks, and each track has smaller learning groups called micro-groups. In your group you review hard concepts, keep your momentum up, and support each other. Weekly study sessions led by peers give you a place to ask questions.

  • Practice and present

Every micro-group presents assigned learning content at least once. You prepare together, then explain what you learned out loud. If you can explain it, defend it, and apply it, you understand it differently. Presentations are part of taking part.

  • Connect and lead

Hear from working professionals in live Ask Me Anything sessions and in weekly Workshop Wednesdays. Scholars may also serve as Track Leads and practice facilitation. Leadership opportunities and recognition are conditional.

    Explore Workshop Wednesdays

An illustrative week

  1. Work through your coursework

Move through your Google learning pathway, with weekly milestones to keep you steady.

  2. Talk through something challenging

Bring a hard concept to your micro-group and work it out together in a peer-led study session.

  3. Prepare your presentation

Get ready to explain what you learned. Every micro-group presents assigned content at least once.

  4. Join a live session with a practitioner

Hear from working professionals in an Ask Me Anything session or a Workshop Wednesday.

Your actual cadence depends on your track and cohort.

Choose the skills you want to grow.

From your first introduction to your final milestone.

A rhythm, not a rigid schedule. Here is what each stage asks of you and what progress looks like.

Weeks 1 to 2

Find your footing

What you do

  • Onboard and meet your cohort and your micro-group.
  • Orient to your track, set your learning plan, and begin coursework.

A clear learning plan, group connections, and early coursework progress.

The exact timing of AMA sessions and presentations may vary by cohort.

See what growth looks like.

Scholars describe it in their own words.

  • “I was given the space to learn command lines, Git, Python, and Bash scripts. I really had to want it and be someone who could commit to doing the work.”

DennysGrow with Google Scholar Program, including BUILD
  • “Between the certifications, the accountability from mentors, collective learning, and hands-on group project experience, it turned ambition into something actionable.”

    SnehaGrow with Google Data Analytics
  • “That experience reminded me that I belong in tech and that my ideas have value.”

TiaGoogle Cybersecurity Professional Certificate and BUILD
  • Completion

Finishing the requirements of the Google learning pathway you choose, confirmed in your final checks. The certificate is earned through that pathway.
  • Recognition

Graduation, community spotlights, and Track Lead recognition from the Collective, where applicable. These are separate from your certificate.

Bring curiosity. Make room to follow through.

Applicants can come from anywhere in the world. You do not need a specific professional or academic background. You do need the willingness to show up.

  • Students
  • Early-career professionals
  • Career changers
  • Working professionals expanding their skills
  • Returning professionals
  • Self-taught learners
  • People exploring a new technical or business path

We provide the structure

  • Sponsored access to the required learning platform during the program
  • A cohort and a micro-group to learn alongside

  • Telling us early if challenges come up
  • Completing milestones on time

Plan on 15 to 20 hours a week. If you fall behind, reach out early. The Collective is here to help you get back on track.

Put your learning to work.

BUILD: an optional next step

After successfully completing EDUCATE, you may choose to continue into BUILD, a four-week cross-functional experience. You team up with scholars from complementary disciplines to apply your learning to a project connected to a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal.

  1. Later stage

    BUILD

    A four-week, cross-functional project sprint.

  2. Later stage

    MENTOR

Six weeks of structured one-on-one mentorship with an industry professional.

  3. Later stage

    POLISH

AI-assisted career coaching and human guidance for your resume, interviews, and negotiation.

  4. Later stage

    HIRE

Qualified scholars may become eligible for the Collective's Talent Portal and future hiring opportunities.

Later stages are optional and happen in order, based on successful completion and eligibility. Mentorship, career coaching, and Talent Portal access are later-stage opportunities, not automatic benefits of the 12-week program. Hiring is an opportunity subject to eligibility, not a placement guarantee.

Your first step starts here.

  1. Review and decision

The Collective reviews applications and lets you know.

  2. Onboarding

Accepted scholars confirm their track and meet their cohort.

Before you apply

  • Browse the nine pathways and note the one you are drawn to
  • Confirm you can give 15 to 20 hours a week
  • Come as you are. No specific background is needed

If the next application window is not open yet, join the program waitlist and you will be notified when it opens.

A few things you may still be wondering.

Taking part

  • Do I have to present?

Yes. Every micro-group presents assigned learning content at least once during the program. You prepare together with your group, so you are supported along the way.

  • What are micro-groups, and how are scholars grouped?

Scholars are assigned to one of nine tracks, then placed in a smaller peer micro-group within that track. It is a closer space for accountability, study sessions, and preparing presentations together.

  • What are AMA sessions and Workshop Wednesdays?

An AMA is a live question-and-answer session with an industry professional working in or near your track's role. Workshop Wednesdays are the Collective's weekly live, practitioner-led sessions on technology, career development, leadership, business, AI, and cloud.

After the 12 weeks

  • Do I have to complete BUILD or the rest of the scholar lifecycle?

No. Completing EDUCATE does not obligate you to continue. BUILD is a four-week applied project sprint you can opt into after graduating. MENTOR, POLISH, and HIRE are optional too, and they happen in order if you choose to continue.

If things change

  • What happens if I fall behind?

Reach out early. The Collective supports scholars in staying on track, and scholars are responsible for making consistent progress and completing required milestones.

  • When can I apply again if I am not selected?

You are welcome to apply to a future cohort. Join the waitlist to be notified when the next application window opens.

Your next chapter has a place to begin.

You do not need the perfect background. You need the willingness to show up, and a Collective will be there with you.
